Wyoming Food for Thought Project will be packing for the 7-day Thanksgiving Break on Wednesday, November 18th starting at 2pm.
In the past, we have had a great turnout of volunteers - such a great turnout, in fact, that we have found ourselves with too many bodies for the day, which significantly slows the packing down. Also, with COVID, we are using as much precaution as possible to ensure a safe and productive packing by implementing a volunteer registration.
We are looking for 10 volunteers per hour from 2pm-5pm. Volunteer tasks include:
Get reusable bags ready for packing
Unload box truck of food
Organize the packing room
Count all food items to make sure we have enough
Pack food bags
Run filled bags downstairs
Top bags off with bread
And more
If you are interested in volunteering for this packing, DON'T WAIT! This packing will fill fast, so be sure to coordinate with your friends and family and get signed up! Volunteers will be required to sanitize upon entering the building and to wear a mask. You are welcome to bring your own, otherwise we will provide you with one at the door.
We also have sponsorship opportunities available for this packing, which will help cover the cost of the 20,000+ meals we will be distributing for Thanksgiving Break.
